Ten days ago I spent a few hours in the hub of personal computing and cell phone market in Lahore, trying to find and purchase an optimal Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for use of a sophomore. After some effort I found one which suited my requirements. The transaction went well and I was about to leave when I decided to inquire about the recently released Intel’s 6th generation desktop processors, codenamed “Skylake“.
It came as a shock to me when I learned about the lack of brand knowledge even among the top retailers located in one of the core markets of Pakistan. My query about Skylake sent waves through their spines; they were unaware of its launch. The news I gave them threatened their fully stocked shelves with an acutely aligned array of Intel’s 5th generation Broadwell processors.
